My services

I offer custom sewing for those special, one of a kind projects.  Whether it be everyday clothing items or special occasion items,  I can help you create the perfect piece just for you.  I also can help with home decor like curtains, pillows, and  Tee Shirt Quilts.   I also make fabric rugs, baskets, trivets and coasters using a Tooth Brush Hook method. Hot/Cold packs made using Cherry Pits and covered with a variety of fabrics are also available.

ALTERATIONS AND HEMMING

I can help with alterations for most garments. Special occasion clothing such as Wedding Dresses, Bridesmaid's Dresses, Prom Dresses, and Performance Dresses often need some alterations and hemming when they are purchased. I have extensive experience working with various fabrics and will work to get these projects done in a timely manner.

I am able to hem your denim jeans while keeping the original hem stitching or turn your child's suddenly too short pants into summer shorts. I can give your old wide-legged slacks a new, narrower line, or even adjust the waistline as sizes change. Whatever the project may be, I will be willing to look at it and give you an estimate.

ZIPPERS, BUTTONS, AND BLING

Does your favorite jacket or pair of jeans needs a new zipper? I can help replace it for you. Simply changing the buttons on a garment can give it a new life, or I can sew the popped ones back on. I have also helped reinforce the sparkles on popular jeans & other garments.

CHERRY PIT PACKS

I make Hot/Cold packs using Cherry Pits for the filling. These are sewn into a plain fabric tube, which in turn is inserted into a tube cover. The covers come in a variety of fabric styles and can be removed for washing. These sell for $15 each. They can be warmed in the microwave for use as a safe hot pack, or kept in the freezer for use as a cold pack.

TOOTHBRUSH HOOK RUGS

I make a variety of hook rugs, coasters, trivets, and baskets using an old-fashioned method called Toothbrush Hooking. I use a large wooden needle and two spools of fabric strips to make the projects. These are available in various fabrics and sizes, or can be made with your choice of fabric. One of my favorites was one made from great-grandma's house dresses for a little girl's room.

Be sure to check out some of the photos of ones already available. The prices vary according to the size of the project.
